This website is my first to promote dog sports in South Africa. My main interest is Dog Agility, although there are other disciplines that I compete in, namely Dog Jumping, Obedience and Working Trials. My dog, Jess, is also a Flyball. This website was created for South Africans, as well as overseas visitors that are interested in dogs and competing with dogs. The International Agility Link, or IAL, is an international competition open to anyone who does agility with their dogs, whatever the breed, mixed breeds included. The competition is run on a trust basis, & dogs run four courses in a year, and each dog is given a placing based on the faults incurred and the speed of the dog. It's all about fun and exercise, and being with your best canine friends. I am a huge fan of working disciplines and working dogs, especially border collies, although I'm testing out the agility of the Australian Shepherd too. I am an agility and dog jumping judge in South Africa. Our governing body is KUSA, or the Kennel Union of Southern Africa. We train at the Baakens Valley German Shepherd Dog Club and All Breeds Training School in Target Kloof, Walmer, Port Elizabeth as well as the PE Kennel Club.
My fiance', Rory Shortland and I have started official websites for dogsports in the country. I hope our websites inspire others to take up their sport with their dogs as well! Nadine McInnes
